welcome tosupercell101

Did you know what is a supercell? Did you know that a supercell is 2 times more dangerous than a tornado? Well today you are lucky because you will have a load of information about a supercell.  a supercell is a system producing severe thunderstorms and featuring rotating winds sustained by a prolonged updraft that may result in hail, tornadoes, floods, hurricanes, thunderstorms, and much more. Although tsunamis are a part of severe water reactions, tsunamis are not caused by supercells. Supercells are most common in the central part of the United States, but they can occur in other regions of the country and other parts of the world.  There are also a variety of supercell types, including classic, high precipitation, and low precipitation Classic supercells  are tough to precisely define.  Radar features may include the presence of a hook echo, a weak echo region (WER), a bounded weak echo region (BWER), and a V-notch.  Classic supercells are most commonly found in the Great Plains of the United States and can be relatively isolated.  High precipitation supercells are less isolated than their classic supercells and often form in environments with a high degree of atmospheric moisture and weak mid-level storm-relative winds.  As a result, the updraft tends to become rain-wrapped, which makes it difficult to identify low-level storm features, including wall clouds and tornadoes.  Low precipitation supercells  form in environments with low atmospheric moisture content and strong mid-level storm-relative winds.  LP supercells usually don’t produce much precipitation, but what precipitation they do produce is usually in the form of very large hail.  Since these supercells form in an environment with low atmospheric moisture, they are not uncommon in the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles.  A supercell requires several very unique factors coming together in order to see them form. All thunderstorms require three ingredients to form: moisture, instability, and lift. Supercells, on the other hand, require all three of those plus an additional factor: wind shear Supercells occur when these materials combine.  Supercells require adequate moisture to be present in order to form. For supercells to be tornadic, the baseline figures are usually dewpoints of 55F on the High Plains and 60F for the lower plains. These vary setup to setup though. Invisibility and lift also plays a role. unstable air is air that tends to rise when it is lifted. For air to rise, it has to be hotter than the air surrounding it, think about the old saying ‘hot air rises’. That saying is true for the atmosphere as well. Unstable air occurs when the air at the surface is warmed beneath cooler temps aloft. The faster the air tends to rise, the more unstable the atmosphere is. Finally, shear also plays a role. Supercells need to have the updraft rotating, this is accomplished through wind shear or wind which veers and speeds up with height. This wind shear creates horizontal vorticity which is then tilted upwards by a strong thunderstorm updraft, creating the deep/rotating updraft supercells require. Safety precautions for supercells are basically precautions for tornados. these precautions include a lot of things. Pack an emergency preparedness kit that will meet the needs of you and your family for three days. The kit, of course, will be handy in the wake of any natural or man-made disaster. An emergency preparedness kit needs to include food and water for each member of your family for three days, a battery-powered or hand-crank radio, flashlight, spare batteries, first aid kit, can opener, local maps, moist towelettes, toilet paper, garbage bags and plastic ties for personal sanitation. Other items to consider include sleeping bags or blankets, paper towels, books, puzzles and games for children and pet food for family pets. A complete list of recommended items for an emergency kit can be found at Ready.gov, FEMA’s emergency preparedness Web site.Buy a NOAA weather radio and keep it on your nightstand. The radio will sound a loud alert when the National Weather Service issues a tornado warning for your area. This should give you time to gather your family at the safest spot in the house.Be alert for threatening weather. Look for the following danger signs: dark, greenish sky, large hail, a large, dark, rotating cloud, a loud roar. The main part about this is that how supercells affect people, animals, and the environment. Supercells affect the people by destroying property, homes, and many valuable things. Supercells also affect animals by the same thing. The environment gets destroyed when the plants and agriculture gets destroyed.  The  I hope you learned about a supercell.
